Single parents to opposite sex children?

What are some challenges with being a single parent to opposite sex children?

I don't think I would feel comfortable as a father talking to my daughter about her period and her minstrel cycle I think that would be a mothers role to explain.

I think I would screw it up because its a delicate subject that has to be approached a certain way it's much harder to be a dad raising a daughter than a mom raising a son.
